Butterfly Trust's PledgePage
Cystic Fibrosis is a genetically inherited condition that affects mucus producing glands in the body and causes lung disease and malnutrition. CF is a chronic condition. Those affected have an average life expectancy of 31. CF effects 1 in 2500 people in Scotland. 1 in 25 people is a carrier of the faulty gene which is the cause of the condition. While modern medical advances have improved the quality of life for those with CF, the daily treatment regime is still rigorous, unpleasant, intrusive and time consuming.
The Butterfly Trust was established in 2002 to provide support and empower people with Cystic Fibrosis and their families. The wide range of services offered by the trust includes; Face to Face support, Practical and financial aid, Advocacy, Information and advice, transportation, befriending, massage, and counselling. The Butterfly Trust relies on the community to help us improve the quality of life for hundreds of people throughout Scotland. Although all of our support staff, be-frienders and massage therapists work on a voluntary basis we still need valuable funds to keep the services running and expanding. We need your support and fundraising efforts to ensure the future of this unique service. Thank you for your support. |
